Why We Come to You

At Behaviour Bridge, we believe that effective Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) happens where life unfolds. That’s why our dedicated practitioners provide outreach-based support, meeting you and your loved ones in the comfort of your home, at school, within the community, or even in the workplace. We bring our expertise directly to you, ensuring convenience and relevance.

This approach is crucial because behaviour is deeply rooted in its context. A plan developed in an isolated clinic often struggles to translate to real-world situations. By working alongside you in Ocean Reef’s unique environments – whether it’s navigating the bustling local shops, enjoying a quiet moment at a community park, or engaging in activities around the Boat Harbour – we gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities, allowing us to craft truly effective and sustainable strategies.

🏠 Home

We provide personalised support and strategies right in your home environment, fostering comfort and familiarity.

🏫 School

Our team collaborates with educators and students in Ocean Reef schools to create supportive learning environments.

🌳 Community

We assist individuals in engaging confidently with local Ocean Reef amenities, from parks to community centres and the vibrant Boat Harbour.

💼 Workplace

Support is extended to workplaces, helping individuals thrive in their professional roles within the Ocean Reef area.

🌊 Respite & Short Breaks

We support individuals and their families during respite and short break arrangements, ensuring positive experiences and continuity of behaviour strategies.

🎓 Day Programs & TAFE

Our practitioners work alongside day program staff and TAFE educators to implement practical strategies that support participation and skill development.

What Support Coordinators Need to Know

For our valued Support Coordinators, we want to be upfront: Behaviour Support Plans are typically released within three months of engagement. We understand the importance of timely documentation and are committed to delivering comprehensive plans efficiently, ensuring you have the necessary tools to support your participants.

BUT – and this is a big but – a Behaviour Support Plan that just sits in a drawer does absolutely nothing! We believe the real magic happens in the implementation. That’s why Behaviour Bridge places a huge emphasis on working closely with families, carers, and support workers. We’re here to ensure those strategies are not just written down, but actively put into practice, making a tangible difference in daily life.

We’re pleased to confirm that we have immediate capacity for new participants right here in Ocean Reef. No lengthy waitlists to contend with – we’re ready to engage and make a difference now. Please don’t hesitate to refer your participants to us; we’re eager to help.

A Story From Ocean Reef

In Ocean Reef, 12-year-old Felix struggled with frustration during basketball games, sometimes lashing out. His PBS consultants taught self-monitoring techniques and introduced a ‘timeout card’ so he could signal a break before anger escalated. Coaches supported these strategies, resulting in less on-court outbursts and a more enjoyable sport experience for Felix and his teammates.

Meet Your Northern Corridor Practitioner

Alicia Mulligan - PBS Practitioner at Behaviour Bridge

Alicia Mulligan

PBS Practitioner

Hello Ocean Reef! We’re delighted to introduce Alicia Mulligan, your local Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, ready to help individuals and families thrive right here in our vibrant coastal community. With a deep understanding of unique needs and a gentle, empowering approach, Alicia is passionate about fostering positive change and enhancing quality of life for everyone she supports.

Alicia Mulligan joins Behaviour Bridge as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner and she is genuinely one of those practitioners you feel lucky to have on your team. Her specialty lies in supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Level 3, with a particular focus on non-verbal and minimally verbal participants , an area where experienced, confident practitioners are few and far between.

What sets Alicia apart isn’t just her clinical skill , it’s the way she shows up for the people she supports. With a deep and longstanding background in the disability industry, she brings a level of practical insight and genuine connection that is hard to teach. She understands the full picture: the family dynamics, the support worker pressures, the funding realities, and she works with all of it, not around it.

Julianne Shepley, Behaviour Bridge PBS Practitioner
“I truly cherish my work in Ocean Reef. There’s a wonderful sense of community here, and I particularly enjoy seeing families thrive as they make the most of the beautiful coastal environment, especially around the Boat Harbour. Supporting individuals and their families to build confidence and independence in such a vibrant setting is incredibly rewarding, and I love being a part of their journey right here in their local area.”
