Positive Behaviour Support in Maitland & nearby Hunter
Referrals are open now. Jarrah McConnell, our incoming Maitland practitioner, starts 26 October 2026.
You can refer before then. Jarrah’s current estimate is about one week for an initial appointment after commencement and intake, subject to suitability, travel and capacity. No appointment before 26 October is promised.
Behaviour Bridge is a registered NDIS provider offering practical Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) for children, young people and adults in everyday settings. Jarrah takes a neuro-affirming approach and welcomes a mixed caseload. Support coordinators and allied health professionals can refer with a clear handover; parents and carers can refer directly too. At intake we confirm service fit, travel and practitioner availability so everyone knows the next step.
Meet your Maitland practitioner: Jarrah McConnell
Looking for Positive Behaviour Support that makes sense for the person, not just a diagnosis? Jarrah welcomes a mixed caseload of children, young people and adults and takes a neuro-affirming approach. This may suit a participant or family wanting practical strategies that respect the person’s strengths, communication and everyday context—or a support coordinator whose team needs help putting a plan into practice.
Tell us about the participant’s goals and the support team in your referral. We confirm suitability, Maitland-area travel and timing at intake; the estimated initial appointment is about one week after Jarrah commences on 26 October 2026, subject to capacity.
A plan is a start, not the finish line
Behaviour Support Plans are typically released within three months of engagement, depending on assessment complexity and the information available. But a plan tucked away in a folder cannot do the work on its own. Our focus is helping families and support teams put practical strategies into action at home, school and in the community. We discuss implementation, coaching and review with the participant’s team, because the plan only helps when it is used.
For support coordinators, this means a practical partner for the handover and implementation, not just another document to file. The approach and setting are agreed during intake and depend on each person’s needs and plan.
Maitland and nearby Hunter suburbs
Maitland, East Maitland, Rutherford, Thornton, Morpeth, Kurri Kurri and Beresfield are examples of nearby localities we can discuss. Other Lower Hunter addresses may be possible. Tell us your suburb in the referral and we will check travel from the practitioner’s actual base. We do not claim to cover all of the Hunter Valley.
