Why We Come to You

At Behaviour Bridge, we firmly believe that effective Positive Behaviour Support isn’t something that happens in a sterile office; it’s an outreach-based service that integrates seamlessly into daily life. Our dedicated practitioners, including Julianne Shepley, meet individuals and their support networks in the comfort of their homes, at school, within their community, or even in their workplace. This approach ensures that strategies are developed and implemented in the very environments where behaviour naturally occurs.

Understanding behaviour in context is paramount. Tapping, with its array of local parks, community centres, and bustling local shops, provides numerous settings where individuals engage with the world. By working directly within these familiar environments – whether it’s navigating the playground at a local reserve, participating in activities at the community hub, or learning new skills at home – we can observe, understand, and tailor support that truly makes a difference, fostering skills and confidence right where they’re needed most.

🏠 Home

We provide personalised support and strategy implementation directly within the home environment, fostering positive interactions and skill development in familiar surroundings.

🏫 School

Our practitioners collaborate with schools in Tapping to create supportive learning environments, addressing behavioural challenges and promoting academic and social success.

🌳 Community

From local parks and reserves to community events, we support individuals in Tapping to confidently engage with their local community, building independence and social connections.

💼 Workplace

For adults, we offer tailored support within the workplace, helping to develop essential skills and strategies for successful employment and participation.

🌊 Respite & Short Breaks

We support individuals and their families during respite and short break arrangements, ensuring positive experiences and continuity of behaviour strategies.

🎓 Day Programs & TAFE

Our practitioners work alongside day program staff and TAFE educators to implement practical strategies that support participation and skill development.

What Support Coordinators Need to Know

For our valued Support Coordinators, we want to be upfront and clear: Behaviour Bridge is committed to delivering high-quality Positive Behaviour Support. You can expect Behaviour Support Plans to be typically released within three months of engagement, providing a clear roadmap for intervention and growth.

BUT – and this is a big “but” – a beautifully written Behaviour Support Plan that just sits in a drawer is about as useful as a chocolate teapot! Our real focus, and where the magic truly happens, is in the implementation. We work hand-in-hand with families, carers, and support workers, providing practical coaching and ongoing guidance to ensure those strategies are genuinely integrated into daily life, making a tangible difference.

We’re pleased to confirm that Behaviour Bridge currently has immediate capacity in Tapping. There are no lengthy waitlists here, meaning individuals can access the support they need without unnecessary delays. We invite you to refer with confidence, knowing that timely and effective support is ready and waiting.

A Story From Tapping

Four-year-old Amira from Tapping was often overwhelmed by loud household noises, causing her to cover her ears and cry. Her PBS team recommended a ‘quiet corner’ with soft lighting and calming toys. Family members used visual timers to indicate noisy tasks were temporary. Amira adapted well, enjoying family time with less distress.

Alicia Mulligan

PBS Practitioner

Tapping, we’re thrilled to introduce Alicia Mulligan, a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner bringing her dedicated expertise right to our neighbourhood. With a deep commitment to fostering positive change, Alicia is here to help individuals and families in our community thrive. We’re so pleased she’s chosen to share her compassionate and skilled approach with us.

Alicia Mulligan joins Behaviour Bridge as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner and she is genuinely one of those practitioners you feel lucky to have on your team. Her specialty lies in supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Level 3, with a particular focus on non-verbal and minimally verbal participants , a n area where experienced, confident practitioners are few and far between.

What sets Alicia apart isn’t just her clinical skill : it’s the way she shows up for the people she supports. With a deep and longstanding background in the disability industry, she brings a level of practical insight and genuine connection that is hard to teach. She understands the full picture: the family dynamics, the support worker pressures, the funding realities, and she works with all of it, not around it.

“I truly enjoy working with families in Tapping. There’s a wonderful sense of community here, and I often find myself drawing inspiration from the vibrant energy of the local parks and the friendly faces I meet. It’s incredibly rewarding to see individuals thrive and build confidence right within their own neighbourhood, and I love being a part of that journey in such a welcoming area.”
